Running a website that recommends paid survey websites and companies I have come to quickly learn the stigma that comes with the industry.
Just a quick search of the internet will bring up countless ‘opportunities’ offering you $50 a survey or a full-time income just to stay at home and complete online surveys. I can tell you right now that both of these things are almost impossible. Now I say almost because there are some really committed people who are earning a good little income from working with the majority of these survey companies (having their fingers in a lot of pies), but it takes a very special kind of person to achieve this.
You will find that most of the websites promoting online surveys as a quick fix will most likely be trying to sell you something. To steer clear of these ‘dodgy’ websites and to make sure that you only sign up for legitimate companies, I have come up with 3 simple tips to help you work out the difference between a quality and a trashy survey site.
3 Signs of an Untrustworthy Survey Website
- They Charge an Upfront Fee
There is no reason that a market research company should require money from you. You are doing them a service but giving your opinion and they should be paying you – not the other way around. There are plenty of companies that don’t require payment to register, so stick with those ones. - They Quote Big Figures To Convince You
When websites feel they need to convince you will promises of high rates and full-time incomes then you have to wonder how legitimate they are. These online market research jobs are only a part-time gig – so why would these companies pay you a full time income? Don’t fall for all their marketing guff. As the saying goes ‘If something sounds to good to be true, it usually is.’ - They Have a Bad Reputation on Google
and finally, before you join a company be smart and and do a quick Google of their company name. This should quickly help you find out what people who have experienced the company really think.
If you follow these three simple tips you will do well in avoiding the survey websites that are not very trustworthy. Sure you may miss a few legitimate ones in the process but there are plenty of great survey websites that missing a few of the good ones is worth avoiding others.
